1. KBS does not validate and verify the same CDM project
unless allowed / requested /asked by the CDM-EB.
2. KBS’s Central Office will assume full responsibility for decision-making regarding
validation, verification / certification, management review, contract review, signing
of the CDM related contractual arrangements, requests for registration / issuance
and resource allocation; even when validation / verification is subcontracted.
3. KBS and/or any part of KBS does not offer consulting services for developing
CDM projects and/or preparation of PDD.
4. KBS does not use personnel with an actual or potential conflict of interest.
5. KBS does not validate or verify a CDM project where a relationship (based on
ownership, governance, management, personnel, shared resources, finances, contracts,
marketing and payment of sales commission or other inducement for the referral of
new clients) with those who provided consultancy services to the clients of CDM
project poses an unacceptable risk to impartiality.
6. KBS does not promote any consultancy services what-so-ever for developing CDM
projects and/or preparation of PDD. KBS will not state or imply in any of its actions
that validation, verification/certification would be simpler, easier, faster or
less expensive if a specific consultancy services were used
7. No part of the review of validation / verification activity and issuance of validation
/ verification reports is outsourced to any outside agency by KBS.
8. KBS does not offer any product or services that pose an unacceptable risk to
impartiality. All KBS personnel, either internal or external, or committees, who
could influence the certification activities, act impartially and do not allow any
commercial, financial or other pressures to compromise impartiality.
KBS has put in place a mechanism, independent of its operation of validation / verification
activities, which ensures impartiality through constituting a Committee for safeguarding
